ST. PAUL — Top Minnesota government officials as well as airport managers are meeting to discuss how to prevent Ebola from entering the state and what to do if it does.

Health and public safety leaders in Gov. Mark Dayton’s administration were meeting Thursday to discuss the prevention and response plans. Dayton was to take questions about the planning after the meeting.

An Ebola epidemic that has hit hardest in West Africa has caused concern that travelers could cause its spread to other parts of the world. Already, U.S. officials have ordered health screenings at major airports for some international travelers arriving from Ebola hotspots.

Ebola has killed more than 3,400 people in Africa and infected at least twice that many, according to the World Health Organization.
