I.J. Holton Intermediate School received two awards recently.
Superintendent David Krenz told the Austin Public Schools board Monday that the school received the two recognitions that follow the school’s previous awards. The first award was given by American Schools and University Magazine, where they received the bronze citation in their educational interior showcase. The district received copies of the magazine, along with a plaque.
The second award was from Learning by Design, from which the school received a citation of excellence for both I.J. Holton and the community in how organizers designed and worked with partners to make sure the students will receive a quality education.
“I will present those to Jean [McDermott],” Krenz said during the meeting.
