King joins local law firm

Michelle King has joined the Law Firm of Baudler, Maus and Forman as an associate attorney.

King graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in May. Before attending law school, King worked as a research specialist for the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

She began working part-time as a law clerk at Baudler, Maus and Forman after her first year of law school. In her third and final year of law school, King was one of two St. Thomas students selected to participate in the school’s appellate clinic. As part of the clinic, King traveled to San Francisco, California, and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

The court recently ruled in favor of the clinic’s client, establishing precedent for all federal courts in the Ninth Circuit.

Shelley resides in Austin with her husband, Steve, and their two children, Carter and Sam. She serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Austin and is a member of the Council of Catholic Women at St. Augustine. Shelley intends to focus her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, family law and general litigation.

Baudler, Maus and Forman was voted “Best Law Firm” in the 2014 Austin Daily Herald reader’s poll.
