Norman R. Anderson, 81

Norman Richard Anderson, 81, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
Norman was born Dec. 29, 1932, to Richard and Grace (Shaver) Anderson in Austin, Minnesota. He married Gloria Farrell on March 4, 1955, in Brownsdale.
Norman served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. He was stationed in Germany. When he returned, he went to Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis to become an Electrician. Norman was an employee of 3M Company in St Paul for 30 years.
Norman and his wife, Gloria, retired to their hometown of Brownsdale, where they built two new homes. Norman enjoyed working on home projects, doing a lot of the work on the new homes himself. He also did a lot of home projects for others using his skills. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Grace Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, of 59 years, of Brownsdale, Minnesota; son, Randy and his wife, Mary, of Wyoming, Minnesota; daughter, Robin and her husband, Joe Kastner, of Northfield, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Nicholas Lockrem and Kelly Ebner of Roseville, Minnesota; Colton Kastner of Northfield, Minnesota, and Renae Anderson and Mike Armstrong of Duluth, Minnesota; brothers, Wayne and his wife, Sue, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Russell and his wife, Karen of Rose Creek, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Brownsdale with the Rev. Jeffrey Sage officiating. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service on Monday morning. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
