The Austin girls Holiday Hockey Tournament will be at Riverside Arena beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday. Austin will play at 9 a.m. on Monday, 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The shootout will be on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

Pubic skates times at Packer Arena are 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday; 4 to 5:15 p.m.Monday; 3:45 to 5 p.m. Tuesday; 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday; 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Jan. 7. The cost to skate is $4, if you need skates rentals are $1.

There is still room to sign up for the Intro to Archery class. This is for ages 9 and up on Monday to give people a chance to see if archery interests them. The cost is $10 per person, equipment is provided. For more information, please call our office.

We are currently taking registration for our second- through fifth-grade indoor soccer to be held at Banfield Elementary on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. Cost is $17. Please sign up by Tuesday at the Park and Recreation office, 121 4th Avenue NE.

Austin Park and Recreation will be partnering with Austin Youth Hockey and the Austin Bruins to offer a learn to skate for all ages class beginning Jan. 7 at Packer Arena. Registration fee is $30 for six sessions.

There will also be a public skate following each session for you to stay and practice your new skills if you wish. Or invite others to come and skate with you. For more information, you may call our office at 433-1881.
