Danny Glenn Doty, 62, of Spring, Texas, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away on May 15, 2011, from complications after receiving a heart transplant.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1948, to Glenn and Elinor Doty. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1967 and attended Mankato State College. Doty served in the United States Marine Corp. as a drill instructor. He married Carol Graves in August of 1975. This marriage produced two beloved sons, James and Dennis. Dan worked for Borden’s Ice Cream until his illness forced an early retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons” James and Dennis (wife Alecia); parents: Glenn and Elinor Doty; sister Linda Dieken (husband Al); and nephew, Dan Eastlund (wife Bonnie).

His funeral was held in Spring, Texas, on Thursday, May 19. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Calvary Baptist Church, Albert Lea. Coffee and fellowship will follow after the service.
