AHS to hold open house

Austin High School is getting ready to show off what its students are made of — or at least, what they’re making.
The Career and Technical Education department at Austin High School will host an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. student work will be showcased and tours of the labs will be given. The areas featured will be woodworking technology, construction technology, graphic communications, metalworking, transportation technology, and robotics.
CTE students at Austin High School complete many authentic, real world projects related to the various industries mentioned above. Instructors within the CTE program hope to help train the nation’s future workforce. There will be refreshments, door prizes and many student projects will be on display.
