Paint it pink; After main push, cancer events to continue throughout this month

The pink ice is melting and the pink flags have come down on Main Street after the main push for Paint the Town Pink capped with Saturday’s annual Paint the Rink Pink game, but the push to fight cancer isn’t over.
Paint the Rink Pink followed tradition and sold out once again last weekend.
“It went really good, sold out, which is always what we want,” said Kelsey Klapperick, who works in community relations for the Austin Bruins said.
Brian Bachnak and the rest of the Bruins open the jersey auction Saturday night with a dance number at Riverside Arena.
Although organizers didn’t have fundraising totals for Saturday’s game as of press time, donations are were still coming in and organizers said the event went well.
Though the game capped off the main week for Paint the Town Pink, there’s still more to come.
A Valentine’s Day event featuring singer Sena Ehrhardt will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Hormel Historic Home. Brownsdale and Rose Creek’s Paint the Town Pink celebrations are set for Feb. 20 to 22.
