Riverland will host College Health and Wellness Fair on Thursday

Be healthy, be happy

Riverland Community College is trying to ensure students stay as healthy as possible.

Riverland Community College’s student organization, The Nursing Forum, and nursing program will host a Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Austin Campus in the East Building Main Street area.

The Nursing Forum, led by second-year student Marianne Trom and first-year student Kimber Finnegan, wanted to provide an opportunity for Riverland students, faculty, staff and community to get information about the promotion of good health and wellness in a fun and interesting way.

Associate Degree Nursing students will participate in 12-15 different group projects to provide educational topics at the fair. Riverland’s Parent Center, Student Success Center, Massage Therapy program and Radiography program will participate, as well as outside agencies such as the Hy-Vee Dietician, Open Door Clinic, MnSURE Certified Navigator Karen Sundal, Mower Refreshed, Yoga Studio of Austin and more.

The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
