Former Austin Bruin CJ Smith was one of six players named to the Hockey East’s All-Rookie team recently.

Smith has 14 goals and 17 assists in 34 games this season as he leads No. 14 ranked UMass-Lowell in scoring.

Smith was already named Hockey East Rookie of the Month for November and he was named a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, which is given to the best American college hockey player in New England.

Smith, a 20-year old from Des Moines, Iowa, played for the Bruins from 2011 to 2013.
