Willard G. “Bob” Block, 95, of Austin, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Comforcare.

Bob was born May 5, 1916 in Austin to William and Lucy Block. In 1934, he was united in marriage to Ruth I. Cox.

He attended ICS for Electrical Engineering and was on the Austin Utility Board of Directors. Bob was a retired employee of Hormel Foods. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. Bob was a member of the Austin Country Club, the Elk’s Lodge and St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Block, Austin; four children, Roger (Jeannine) Block of Stewartville, Janice (Ken) Regner of Ft. Myers, Fla., Doug (Kathy) Block of St. Paul, Ronald Block of Austin; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 30, 2011, at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
