Harold Gene “Hank” Kahl, 83, of Grand Meadow died Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center.
He was born March 3, 1932, in Webster City, Iowa, to David and Madeline (Loux) Kahl. Hank worked as a truck driver for over 47 years. He drove for Ruan, Crst, Armor, Swift, Valley Transportation and Ron Gehling. Hank drove in all of the continental United States except Maine. He was never married.
Hank is survived by nieces: Rose (Edward) Ackerman of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Lori (Curt) Unverzagt of Brownsdale, Minnesota, Barb (Bruce) Wood of Rockford, Illinois, Judy (John) Wansmos of Joice, Iowa, and Mary (Chuck) Nordine of Rochester, Minnesota. He is also survived by nephews: Larry Kahl of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Sheldon (Bonnie) Soma of Rochester, Minnesota, Peter Kahl of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Mike Kahl of Pennsylvania and Robert Kahl of LeCenter, Minnesota; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Madeline; brothers: Robert, Calvin, Darrel, Maynard, and David, and an infant brother.
Funeral services for Harold “Hank” Kahl will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow with the Rev. Karen Ashton of the Grand Meadow United Church officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.
