It’s a party just for girls at the Historic Hormel Home in May. It’s the time of year again for women to learn about health topics that can improve life. The 16th annual Women’s Health Care Symposium will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the Historic Hormel Home, 208 4th Ave. N.W., Austin. Mayo Clinic Health System providers from Austin will provide health information on osteoporosis, spine fractures, healthy aging as a woman, and how care can enhance through care teams.
Presenters include:
•Lori Fitton, certified nurse practitioner, orthopedics — No bones about it: Your bone health depends on you.
•Emily Nguyen, M.D., orthopedics — Osteoporosis and spinal fractures.
•Shana Salik, certified nurse practitioner, Obstetrics and Gynecology — Healthy aging for women across the lifespan.
•Greg Angstman, M.D., Family Medicine — Team care for you.
The symposium is worth 2.1 contact hours and has been designated to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements — people should check with their profession to determine if this symposium meets criteria for continuing education. A light breakfast will be served.
Call 507-379-2046 to register. The symposium is free and open to women of all ages. Space is limited so register early.
