Frances Mae Charnecki, 61, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in the comfort of her own home after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Fran was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Albert Lea, to Luverne and Norma (Stalheim) Jorgenson. She grew up in Austin where she graduated from high school in 1972.

Fran had a lifelong career in the medical field and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and beloved pets.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Charnecki, Austin; daughter, Sarah (Richard) Klawitter, Lino Lakes; two granddaughters: Lauren, 10, and Marren, 7, Klawitter, Lino Lakes; brothers: Michael (Cynthia) Jorgenson, Bloomington, Gerald Jorgenson, Wisconsin; nieces: Jodi and Kellie Jorgenson, Minneapolis; great-nephews; cousins; and her treasured dog, Josie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luverne and Norma Jorgenson.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Mayer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday and also one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Tuesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
