Orleatha M. “Lee” Dunning, 80, of Austin, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at St. Mark’s Memory Care, Austin.

Orleatha Marie Bastianson was born March 6, 1935, in Austin, Minnesota, to Orlando and Bertha (Dreyer) Bastianson. She attended Austin Public Schools. On Sept. 27, 1952, Orleatha was united in marriage to Gerald Dunning in Austin. The couple raised five children. They were married nearly 56 years before Gerald’s death on April 4, 2008. In earlier years, Orleatha lived in the Lyle and Austin area before relocating to Hastings, Nebraska, where she lived for 40 years. She worked at the Holiday Inn in Hastings, Nebraska. In 2010 after Jerry’s death, she moved back to Austin, where she lived at Primrose. Orleatha loved to play The Dice Game and Yahtzee, as well as do word puzzles and personalize calendars. She also enjoyed flowers and working in her yard.

Orleatha is survived by two sons: Thomas Dunning of Hastings, Nebraska, and Steve (Cindy) Dunning of Salina, Kansas; two daughters: Victoria ‘Vicki’ (Tim) Meineke of Greenville, North Carolina, and Lori Nylander of Hastings, Nebraska; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Lanny (Anita) Bastianson of Austin, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orlando and Bertha Bastianson; her husband Gerald Dunning; her son Randy Dunning; and her great-grandson Mason.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, immediately preceding the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donor’s choice. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
