Laura Tjomsland and Bev Smith finish sorting more than 12,000 books — with 1,800 children’s books — for the Austin Public Library’s Spring Used Book Sale Thursday. The sale started from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and it continues for the same hours Saturday, with a $5 bag sale from 3:30 to 4:30 Saturday. Proceeds fund Riverland Scholarships and the Library’s Summer Reading Program plus author visits, and programs. Tjomsland, Joyce Goetz, and Peggy Keener co-chaired this fundraiser for AAUW and The Friends of the Library; they thanked all who donated.
