The Riverland Community College baseball team moved one step closer to its fourth MCAC Southern Division title in six years when it swept Anoka-Ramsey by scores of 15-5 and 3-1 in Dick Seltz Field Wednesday.
The the No. 9 ranked Blue Devils (33-4 overall, 11-1 MCAC South) will play for the MCAC Southern crown 2 p.m. Saturday at RCTC.
“Win or lose it’s not the end of the world,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “We’re more worried about the Regionals and getting a shot at the World Series.”
Naeem Lourens went 4-for-4 with a homer, a double and seven RBIs for RCC in game one and Mirangelo Muller struck out ten in nine innings in game two.
“Mirangelo pitched a heck of a game, but we’ve got to play a lot better than that on Saturday,” Koenigs said of the second game.
