Sandra Kaye Dunn, 76, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System Rochester, Saint Marys Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandra Kaye Sheldon was born July 1, 1938, in Osage, Iowa, to Leonard E. and Beulah (Molstad) Sheldon. An Austin High School graduate, she worked as a waitress at the Country Kitchen and the Plant Cafe. On Oct. 6, 1969, Sandra was united in marriage to Loren E. Dunn in Wyanet, Illinois. The couple raised one daughter. Following their marriage, Sandy and Loren lived south of Austin before moving to the Lyle area in 1982. In 1986, they moved back to the Austin area. After Loren’s death in 1988, Sandy worked at the Austin Medical Center in housekeeping and as a seamstress. She moved to Brownsdale in 2010. Sandy attended area Lutheran churches and was a member of the Lyle American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting items for the Lyle Cancer Auction, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter Teresa (Russell) Slowinski of Lyle, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Daniel Slowinski (Lindsey Dufner), Benjamin (Bailey) Slowinski, Matthew Slowinski, Nevaeh Slowinski; one great-grandchild Max Slowinski; special ‘grandchild’ Lilly Medorio; her brother Leonard Sheldon, Jr. of Austin, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Beulah Sheldon; her step-father Harley Johnson; her husband Loren Dunn; grandson Anthony Slowinski; and four brothers: Merlyn, Duane, Kenneth, and Leon Sheldon.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Gerald Giese officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Worlein Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
