Best Bets: Deals and wheels for the weekend

Get ready for some great deals and some fine wheels this weekend, as an annual antiques flea market and an annual Ford Club car show are hitting Austin. With dancing, painting and more, this weekend is sure to have something to fit everyone’s weekend plans.

1. 12th Annual Three Rivers Days Antiques Flea Market

8 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Mower County Fairgrounds

Friday is the set-up day for this annual event, and all weekend the event has free admission and free parking. The flea market will be held rain or shine with vendors indoor and out. 2. Painting Class at the Salvation Army

6-7:30 p.m., Friday, Austin Salvation Army

Come have fun with the event Art and Atmosphere at the Salvation Army in Austin. All canvas and paints will be provided in the cost. There will also be music and company to enjoy while creating a masterpiece. The event cost $30 for ages 13 and over, and $20 for ages under 13.

3. Seventh Annual Ford Club Car Show

10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Holiday Ford Lincoln, 2701 West Oakland Avenue, Austin

This event is hosted by the Southeast Minnesota Ford Club. The cost is $10 to enter and the vehicle must be a Ford. Trophies will be awarded and there will be classic cars. The event is open to the public. For more information, call 507-365-8208 or 507-279-0109.

4. Jane Taylor Academy of Dance 51st annual recital

7-9 p.m., Saturday, Austin High School Knowlton Auditorium

The Jane Taylor Academy of Dance will hold its 51st annual recital at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $6 and will be sold at the door. All proceeds from the flower sale will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This past season, the team from Jane Taylor Academy of Dance presented the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a donation of over $400.

5. ‘The Power of Dance’— 14th Annual Recital

4-5:30 p.m., Sunday, Austin High School Knowlton Auditorium

Bridget’s Dance Conservatory will present its 14th annual recital Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

6. Hormel Foundation Gifted and Talented Symposium

All day, Sunday-Tuesday, Riverland Community College

The Hormel Foundation Gifted and Talented Education Symposium provides an opportunity for educators, counselors, administrators and parents to get a better sense of the needs of gifted and high potential learners. Everyone is welcome to register and attend the symposium. Sunday is administration day.
