Patricia Marguerite Stevens, 84, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, June 19, 2015, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center.

Pat was born May 10, 1931, in Austin to Dennis and Elizabeth (Friske) Deneen. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1949.

On June 20, 1949, she married Bernard Helebrant. They had four children before divorcing in 1968. On Nov. 24,1972, she married Russell Stevens. They had one child before he passed away in 1981.

Pat dedicated her life to caring for her children and all of their friends. Whether it was basketball tournaments in the driveway or bands practicing in the basement, she always provided a safe place and plenty of food for everyone. In addition to raising her children, she loved baking goodies and spending time in her garden.

Survivors include her two sons: John (Wendy) Stevens, Austin, Russ Stevens, St. Paul; daughter, Rhonda Gerber, Rochester; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Stevens; sons: Dennis Helebrant and Michael Helebrant; grandson, Robert Helebrant; sisters: Maxine and Kay; brother, Dennis; and longtime companion, Robert Bartholomew.

A celebration of life for Pat will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Mayer Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Veteran’s Pavilion. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
