Underwood: Kickball tourney planned

Congrats go out to those that participated in our tennis camp facilitated by Tom Fritz and Gary Olson. The following participants placed in the end of camp tournament as follows: Grades fifth and sixth champion was Carsten Ansorge, second place, Kennedy Bell, the consolation bracket winner was Meredith Murphy and second place was Hannah Fritz. Grades seven through 12th were split in two groups. With Division A the champion was Mary Wilrodt and second place, Kali Meiergerd; consolation winner Natalie Nunez and second place Gaby Marconi. The Division B champion was Joseph Seeman and second place was Peter Li; consolation winner was Levi Seeman and second place was Sarah Bachmeier.
The second Annual Water Festival will be held July 6-10 at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center. The kickoff program will begin at 7 p.m. with Al Singer, Dakota County Land Conservation Manager. Chad Pregracke is the keynote speaker on Wednesday at 7 p.m. If you have not heard this story it is one you will want to see. You can still sign up for our dance camp that will be held July 13–24, Monday through Friday at Holton School. The cost is $30 per student and you must register at the Park and Recreation office. The camp is offered to students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Sign up now to try the next water aerobics class which will start on July 16 through Aug.6 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., the cost is $35 per session.
We will also offer adult lap swim during the water aerobics session on the south three lanes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings that class is being held.
The hours for public swim at the Austin Municipal pool are: Monday through Friday 1 to 4:45 p.m.; Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; Saturday 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 7 p.m. Individual season memberships are available for purchase at the pool or at the Park and Recreation office for $30. Daily admission is $3 per person and evening admission is $2 per person, ages 2 and under are free.
Hey kickball teams there will be a kickball tournament sponsored by the Bakery Lounge and held at the Todd Park South Complex starting at 1 p.m. July 25. We have registration forms in our office or you can stop in to the Bakery and sign up.
Spruce Up Austin will hold their Yard and Garden Tour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 18. This is a great way to see how others put their gardens and yards together. Advance tickets are on sale at Berg’s Nursery, Dolan’s Landscape, Hardy Geranium, Hy-Vee and SuperFresh Garden Center, the cost is $10 or the day of the event for $12.
