Donald F. Meyers, 77, of Burnsville, Minnesota, died at his home on Friday, July 3, 2015.

Donald was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Austin, Minnesota to Francis and Lucille (Carroll) Meyers. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1955, from Winona State University and later received his master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He received his specialist degree from Mankato State University. He married Judy Knopps and later they were divorced. Early on, Don was a teacher, but for most of his career he was a principal in the Farmington school district. In 1992, he received the Principal of the Year award for the Capital Division of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals. He retired in 1994.

Don liked to fish, he enjoyed traveling with his cousins and was an avid Vikings and Timberwolves fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack.

Don is survived by his son: Timothy Meyers, South St. Paul, Minnesota; sister: Jean (Tom) Clagg, Fort Wayne, Indiana; nieces: Lee (Vinnie) Pallaro and Sara Clagg; nephew: Jason (Meagen) Clagg; and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with Father John Traufler officiating. Pianist will be Neal Erickson. Soloist will be Erin Schumacher. Interment will be in the LeRoy Cemetery. Visitation will be at the mortuary for one hour before the service on Friday.
