Tacia Economou, 82, of Bloomington, Minneosta, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Aug. 3, 2015.

Tacia was a member of Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Rochester.

Tacia and her husband Pete owned the Midtown Café on Main Street for over 17 years, where she was known for her friendly personality and exceptional cooking skills.

Her passions in life included a beautiful flower garden, Greek dancing, entertaining, cooking and baking Greek delicacies. She loved watching The Food Network to find the latest recipe to try with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Pete; children: Olga, Themis (Kathy), Maria (Jeff); grandchildren: Annie, Crissy, Peter, Sophia and newborn Penelope; nephews; Angelo (Gina), Costas, Andreas.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria; father, Stratos; two brothers, a sister and brother-in-law; In-laws, Olga and Themistocles; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.

Her greatest pride in her life was her family — they will miss her dearly. May her memory be eternal. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, especially her many cardiologists, the palliative care team and Dr. Peter Melchert. Their compassionate care exceeded expectations.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be directed to either: Philoxenia House, Rochester, Minnesota, or Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin with Father Mark Munoz and Father George Dokos officiating. Trisagion will take place at 10 a.m. with visitation to follow until the time of the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the Holiday Inn to follow the interment.
