Audrey Elaine Rolfson, 90, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1925, to Benjamin and Doris (Curley) Davis near Elkton, Minnesota, where she attended school, graduating from Elkton High School and Austin Community College. She worked in Rockford, Illinois, during World War II. On May 2, 1946, Audrey married Dale Elgar Rolfson in Dexter, Minnesota. She was the registrar at Austin Community College for 34 years and worked at the Hormel Institute. The couple moved to their retirement home on Movil Lake near Bemidji, Minnesota, in 1986. Audrey graduated from Bemidji State University at 70 with a BS in Business Administration. They lived at the lake home until Dale’s death on Aug. 25, 2004.  Audrey moved to Austin in 2007. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Bemidji and Austin, as well as many professional organizations. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, trying new recipes, doing ceramics and was an excellent seamstress. Audrey did a beautiful job painting and staining the house that she and her husband built.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Allen Lehrke) Rolfson of Apple Valley, Minnesota; a son, Kirk (Wendy) Rolfson of Brownsdale, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Emily (Aaron) Forrester of Ankeny, Iowa, Roy Rolfson of Austin, Minnesota, and Kyle Rolfson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; great-grandchildren: Audrey Forrester and Evelyn Forrester of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters: Beverly Mees of Elkton, Minnesota, and Maxine Thompson of Mankato, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; sisters: Jeanette Gilbert and June Philp.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Austin with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment is at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Minnesota. The family prefers memorials to donors’ choice. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
