A 51-year-old Austin man was taken to the hospital after he injured his foot in a bicycle/car crash Saturday night in southwest Austin.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said the man was biking south on Seventh Street Southwest at about 9 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a 69-year-old driver of a white Dodge Neon driving east down an alley between Third and Fourth avenues.

The victim had dressed in all black with no reflective gear and the area is dimly lit.

The victim said the car ran over his right foot. Gold Cross Ambulance transported him to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
