The Hayfield football team lost 34-7 at Mankato Loyola in its season opener Saturday.

The Vikings (0-1 overall) trailed 14-7 at the half and Loyola scored two TDs in the third quarter to go up 28-7.

Lane Canny had 131 yards of offense and a touchdown for Hayfield.
