Get to Know: Hayfield football player Brayden Hegna

Brayden Hegna is a middle linebacker on the Hayfield football team. Hegna, a senior, is a team captain this season.
Age: 17
Q: How did you originally get into your sport?
A: Sports have always been an important part of my family. My dad and brothers all played which made me want to play also.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Getting my first varsity football start last year, which gave me a chance to prove myself and let me continue to start.
Q: What have you learned from playing sports?
A: I’ve learned that you get out of something what you put in. The harder you work for something the greater the reward.
Q: What is the hardest part about your sport?
A: The fact that we don’t have a very deep depth chart makes it hard to give it your all every play until the end of the game.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: My role models would be my older brothers.
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: American Sniper.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: History.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Rockstar, secret agent and an astronaut — all at once.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Bacon cheeseburger.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: I’m not exactly sure what I’ll do after school. I’ll probably attend college, get a degree, a job and start a family.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: I have a huge sports memorabilia collection that I’ve been collecting since I was six years old.
Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big game?
A: ‘Lose yourself’ by Eminem, ‘We Dem Boyz’ by Wiz Khalifa and ‘Power’ by Kanye West.

A: Any song by Shania Twain.
