The Austin boys soccer team started slow as it took its first loss of the season when it lost to Rochester Mayo (5-0-2 overall, 3-0-1 Big Nine) in Rochester Tuesday.

The Spartans took a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes of the game and the Packers (4-1-1 overall, 2-1 Big Nine) couldn’t score a goal throughout the night.

“Mayo was very quick and directive in their attack,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said. “They created some opportunities and we started out a little slow. We were a little quiet and there wasn’t a lot of communication.”
