The Twin Valley Council Boy Scouts of America is calling local scouts to get registered.
Area troops are participating in statewide recruitment events Thursday and next week. On Thursday, the Austin scouts will gather at the Veteran’s Pavilion in Bandshell Park from 6 to 8 p.m., and Lyle scouts will gather from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lyle School Library. On Monday, Grand Meadow Scouts will gather at Veterna’s Memorial Part from 7 to 8 p.m.
The event, called Rocket Into Scouting, encourages boys to sign up for Scouts. Those who do will receive a free Estes rocket.
In addition, parents should watch for a Cub Scout flyer in their child’s take home folder from school. The flyer will provide specific information about Cub Scout pack activities in their area. New recruits can get a free Cub Scout camp out experience at one of the camp locations in Austin, Fairmont, Mankato or Sleepy Eye.
Parents can visit the Twin Valley Council website at twinvalleybsa.org or call the BSA office at 507-387-3123 for information on joining Cub Scouts.
The Twin Valley Council, BSA serves the counties of Mower, Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Freeborn, Jackson, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Redwood, Renville, Sibley, Waseca and Watonwan.
