Agents to conduct spot checks at college bars this fall

ST. PAUL — State officials are planning random compliance checks this fall for underage drinking and illegal gambling at bars around Minnesota college campuses.
The state Department of Public Safety said in a news release Tuesday that the spot checks come during a season known for homecoming celebrations, Halloween and football.
The checks will focus on liquor license inspections, alcohol purity, legal gambling and any potentially illegal sports betting.
The department says it will provide of a review of findings once the spot checks have ended.
