Free programs for ‘Healthy Holiday Eating’ set for Nov. 2, 3 in Austin, Albert Lea

A free program, “Holiday Eating and Diabetes,” is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Mayo Clinic Health System in the lower level of the Foundation Board Room next to the cafeteria, 404 W. Fountain St., Albert Lea. Participants will learn how to enjoy the holiday season while maintaining optimal diabetes control, discover tips for improving holiday recipes and portion control, and taste a healthy holiday-themed treat.

Another program, “Eating Healthy through the Holidays,” is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 3 at the Hormel Historic Home, 208 4th Ave. NW, Austin. This program is not specific to any chronic condition and will provide general holiday eating information for health and weight.

Emily Schmidt, registered dietician at Mayo Clinic Health System will share how to navigate the holiday season while maintaining health and weight.
