Man assaulted woman over car payment

A woman was reportedly assaulted Friday while trying to get paid for a vehicle she sold.

Officers responded to the 100 block of 13th Street Northeast at about 11 p.m. Friday to a report of a fight, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger. A man allegedly assaulted a 21-year-old woman after she arrived at a residence to collect money owed to her after he bought a vehicle from her.

The 24-year-old suspect allegedly pushed the woman down several times, pushed her head into the garage concrete floor, and swung a pipe at her but missed after she ducked. The woman refused medical services at the time.

The suspect was arrested and faces possible charges of felony second-degree assault.

Police also took two other people at the residence into custody for outstanding warrants.
