Downtown kicked off a bit early this weekend.

An estimated 600 people participated in the annual Fall Fest put on by Vision 2020’s Destination Downtown committee.

This year 24 merchants opened their doors to trick-or-treaters, while more than 100 children participated in the costume contest, and decorated more than 400 foam pumpkins.

Matchbox Theater put on spooky skits and the Community Pride and Spirit Committee had a table where Clifford the Big Red Dog made an appearance.

Committee members called the third annual Fall Fest a success, and the committee is already planning to expand the outing next year.
