MINNEAPOLIS — For the second time in a week there’s a report of a student bringing a gun to high school in the Twin Cities.
WCCO-TV reports the latest incident happened at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis. A handgun and ammunition were found in a locker belonging to a 16-year-old student. School officials said Wednesday the student was overheard telling others that he was going to shoot someone after class.
Last week at Harding High School in St. Paul, an assistant principal found a loaded handgun in a student’s backpack during a search for marijuana. The student was arrested and charged as a juvenile. Police say that student told investigators he needed the weapon to protect himself from gang members.
