Letter: Better arrangements needed for the disabled in voting

With election news in the foreground nowadays, it brought to my mind the last local election when we were told to no longer go to the library where we had formerly voted and go to the Junior College [Riverland Community College].
My elderly sister and I went to the college, figured out which building to go to, and as we approached the building we met three other couples of older people coming to their cars. They hadn’t voted because the place to vote wasn’t handicap friendly.
I hope there will be better arrangements made the next time, if not they better make it known and tell elderly people if they can’t climb stairs they will have to get absentee ballots.
