Perched for the season; Hormel picks winners of 9th annual Holiday Card Contest

Hormel Foods Corp. announced the winners of the company’s annual Holiday Card Contest for children of active employees. The winning artwork will be used as the 2015 holiday card images to send seasonal greetings to thousands of Hormel Foods customers and contacts. The winners were selected by representatives of the Hormel Foods executive team.
Sara Kaminski won the grand prize, and Kate Pfeiffer and Erika Saindon were runners up.
“Thank you to everyone who entered the Holiday Card Contest, and congratulations to Sara, Kate and Erika on their winning entries,” CEO and Chairman of the Board Jeffrey Ettinger said in a press release. “We are delighted to use these images for our company holiday cards and showcase the talent of our employees’ children.”
Sara is the daughter of Martin and Bibi Kaminski, customer business manager in consumer products sales, based in Bellevue, Washington. Sara, a sixth-grader, created her artwork using oil pastels. The title of his card is “Snow Robin.”
Kate, a 10th-grader, is the daughter of Sonja and Joe Pfeiffer, relief supervisor at the Beloit , Wisconsin, plant. She created her artwork, titled “Holiday Warmth,” using tempera paint and cardstock.
Erika, a fifth-grader, is the daughter of Therese Saindon, formula labeling technician at the corporate office in Austin. Her artwork, titled “Christmas Lights,” was created using black construction paper and oil crayons.
Sara’s school will receive a $500 donation in honor of her winning entry, and the schools of the two runners up, Kate and Erika, will each receive a $100 donation.
The scholarships are sent directly to the institutions and applied to the cost of art materials, art supplies or art education classes.
