Magicians hold off Austin Bruins

The Austin Bruins started off slow as they lost 3-2 to the Minnesota Magicians (5-8-2 overall) on the road Thursday.

The Magicians scored all three of their goals in the first period, but Austin (9-7-1 overall) pulled to within 3-2 when Travis Kothenbeutel scored on a penalty shot in the second period.

Austin Smith stopped 11 of the 14 shots he saw for Austin and Kristofer Carlson stopped all 14 of the shots he saw in 38 minutes of relief duty.
