Braden Kocer is a senior basketball player for Lyle-Pacelli.

Q: How did you originally get into your sport?

A: My dad started me out years ago beginning with YMCA basketball.

Q: Whats your favorite sports memory?

A: There has been a lot but it definitely has to either be our win in basketball last year against Randolph or our playoff game against Faribault B.A. The crowds were just insane.

Q: What have you learned from playing sports?

A: Through the years I have really learned to love the leadership role in sports. I have learned that sports prepares you for your life ahead. You learn just as much from losing as you do from winning, it builds character. There is nothing better than a team atmosphere.

Q: What is the hardest part about your sport?

A: In basketball, the hardest part has to be that it’s such a long journey, it’s the longest season. You have to try not get too high or too low during the year. You have to keep an even keel.

Q: Who is your biggest sports role model?

It has to be Derek Jeter and Kevin Garnett. They both have been great leaders and gave their teams everything they have without causing any of the bad distractions you hear about in sports today.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

A: It has to be the Walking Dead Series and all of the Rocky Balboa movies.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: History

Q: What is your dream job?

A: General Manager of the Minnesota Vikings

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Any of my mom’s Italian food.

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: To attend college and get a business degree in either accounting, finance or analytics.

Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?

A: I am the biggest die hard Minnesota Gopher fan you’ve ever met.

Q: What are your top three pump up songs before a big game?

A: ‘Anything’ by Lil Wayne. ‘No love’ by Amili, and ‘Glory.’

Q: What are your top three guilt pleasure songs?

A: ‘Fly’ by Nicki Minaj, ‘My Way’ by Frank Sinatra and ‘Zombie Nation’ by Kernkraft 400.
