The Southland boys basketball team lost 56-53 at Winona Cotter (3-5 overall) Monday.

The Rebels (5-4 overall) used a strong second half effort to get back in the game, but they came up short. Southland missed a pair of late three-pointers that would’ve extended the game into overtime.

“In the first half we were sluggish, but in the second half we came out and played better,” Southland head coach Matt Webber said. “I was happy with our second half effort.”

The Rebels will now enter winter break and their next game is Jan. 5.
