The Austin girls hockey team knocked off the third place team in the Big Nine when they blanked Faribault (14-5-2 overall, 12-3 Big Nine) 4-0 in Riverside Arena Saturday.

Brandi Myers, Myia Hoium, Madison Overby and Chloe Summerfield all scored goals in the win for the Packers (13-7 overall, 11-4 Big Nine).

“Our entire team really skated hard for three periods and gave them very few real opportunities,” Austin head coach Brett Vesel said. “This is the type of game we are capable of playing night in and night out.”

Mara Overby picked up the shutout in net for Austin.
