Tools stolen from Institute housing construction trailer; Lock was cut over the weekend

More than $3,000 in equipment was stolen from The Hormel Institute’s Science Park Housing construction site over the weekend.
Officers took a report of a burglary from a construction trailer around 8 a.m. Monday on the 900 block of 16th Avenue Northeast, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.
The trailer’s lock was cut off. Missing items include a red Milwaukee bandsaw, a yellow Dewalt chop saw, a Dewalt hammer drill with three bits and a black-and-yellow case worth $1,800, numerous pieces of PVC pipe, fittings, glue, and more. Total value of the items was estimated at $3,400.
The items were taken sometime between 4 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday.
