Five Austin High School students were selected for membership in the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra for the 2008-09 school year. They are: Ingrid Baudler (French horn); Ben Bachmeier (cello); Amanda Mattick (violin); Victoria Torkelson (violin); and Garth Strobel (violin). They were part of the 581 students selected from more than 2,000 who auditioned this spring.

The students attended a summer camp from Aug. 4-9 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. In addition, they will gather on Friday, Aug. 29 in Minneapolis for rehearsals and performances at Orchestra Hall and the Minneapolis Convention Center.
