Packer swimmers take 12th at ‘true team’ state meet

The Austin boys swimming and diving team finished 12th out of 12 teams at the Class A ‘true team’ state meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis Saturday.
The Packers tallied a team score of 982 and Saint Thomas Academy took first with a score of 2,183.
“The team had a great expereince competing in one of the top Swimming and Diving Aquatic Centers in the nation,” Austin head coach Lynn Gulbrandson said. “We had season best times in most of our swims.”
Austin’s Isaac Christopherson took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle and Ben Walker took fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
The Austin 200-yard freestyle relay team of Seth Clasen, Walker, Mitchell Mayer and Christopherson took third.
