Packer girls hockey team downs Faribault, will play Northfield in semis Saturday

The No. 5 seeded Austin girls hockey team beat No. 4 seeded Faribault (17-7-2 overall) 3-1 on the road in a Section 1A quarterfinal game Wednesday.

Chloe Summerfield had two goals and an assist for the Packers, Myia Houim had one goal and Lilly Holtz had one assist.
Summerfield tied the game up at 1-1 when she scored with seven minutes left in the second period and Hoium Austin a 2-1 lead two minutes later.
Mara Overby stopped 28 shots in net for Austin (15-11 overall).
Austin will now play at No. 1 seeded Northfield in a Section 1A semifinal game 2 p.m. Saturday. Northfield (16-9 overall) beat Austin 4-1 Jan. 23.
