A local student received a big honor recently.

Austin High School sent its delegation to North Mankato’s South Central Technical College for the Minnesota SkillsUSA fall Delegation. The AHS delegation included Corey Todalen, Jared Meineke, Brett Brownrigg, Leah Meineke, Chrissy Nelson, Andrew Forbes and Blake Forbes. Corey Todalen was also registered as an officer candidate. The goal of the fall Delegation was to elect MN SkillsUSA state officers through the political process.

The AHS delegation ran a good campaign for Corey’s bid to be elected as a state officer. The ballots were tallied and Corey was officially elected as a secondary MN SkillsUSA Officer for 2015-2016. Last year, Corey won a national first place gold medallion in graphics-sublimation. Now he continues to excel in SkillsUSA by being a State Officer.
