Letter: City shouldn’t shy from updating its wastewater treatment facility

I am stunned to read that Austin’s leadership is going to spend their time and talent suing the state to defend their smelly, obsolete and clearly inadequate sewer plant from meeting modern standards.
Perhaps planning for the future would be more appropriate. Maybe it is time to think about a new facility.
After all, Austin is looking for something to tear down — sounds like an ancient waste water plant is just the thing. Lots of room down there for a rec center.
