Sign and Safety Officer Duane Distad, center, poses with other Mower County Public Works employees Tuesday in the Mower County Government Center. Distad was recognized for his retirement after 19 years with the county, about 16 as the sign and safety officer. “Duane’s been a great asset to the county, and he’ll be missed,” County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said.
