Katherine Nagle, 100, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Primrose Retirement Community.

Katherine Avery was born July 30, 1915, in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Pichner) Avery. She graduated from high school in Minneapolis before attending the University of Minnesota, where she received her undergraduate degree and Pharmacy degree. On July 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Donald Nagle in Minneapolis. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Austin. Katherine made her living as a pharmacist at various Austin pharmacies over the years, including St. Olaf Hospital. An avid reader, she enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, cooking and playing bridge. Katherine belonged to the First United Methodist Church and was a past member of the Zonta club.

Survivors include her husband Donald Nagle of Austin, Minnesota; her son Lon Nagle also of Austin; her daughter Barbara (Andy) Harbut of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Emma Avery; her son Bruce; her daughter-in-law Carol; and one brother Wilton Avery.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be directed to the First United Methodist Church or recipient of donor’s choice. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.
