Dale Richard Wood, known to most as Woody, 63, of Lake City died Friday, March 25, 2016, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota, to Richard and Violet (Malchow) Wood. He grew up in Austin and graduated high school from there. In December of 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He moved to Lake City and began working at Federal Mogul, where he worked for 43 years until retiring in April 2015. On Aug. 10, 1996, he married Kim Beck in Lake City. Dale was a member of the Lake City VFW Post No. 8729. He enjoyed camping, darts, beanbags, gambling, the Minnesota, Twins, but most of all the Minnesota Vikings.

Dale is survived by his wife, Kim of Lake City; four daughters, Natalie (Kert) Nelson of Faribault, Rachael Wood of Roseville, Jessica (Neil) Bauman of Blooming Prairie, Angela (Neo Richardson) Wood of Rochester; son, J.D. (Cece) Wood of Faribault; step-daughters, Shawna O’Reilly of Rochester, Kelly (Ken) Alber of Manchester, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; brother, Dennis Wood of Apache Junction, Arizona; three sisters, Mavis Wood of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Patty (Dale) Lundberg of Austin, Minnesota, Shirley Springer of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Violet Wood; and brother, Dean Wood.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Scott Fiege Officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
