ST. PAUL— Authorities say the worker who died in a weekend accident at a St. Paul rail yard was a 43-year-old Wisconsin man.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office says Jeffrey Harsh of West Allis died early Saturday at Regions Hospital.
St. Paul police Sgt. Mike Ernster tells the Star Tribune that Harsh was trying to cross over some tracks in front of moving trains at the Canadian Pacific rail yard. One of the trains was moving slow when it hit him and knocked him down.
Police spokesman Steve Linders says preliminary information indicated Harsh had been pinned between two train cars, but further investigation revealed that wasn’t the case.
The death was ruled an accident pending toxicology reports. Canadian Pacific is investigating.
